Shower door care video
Project initiation | Creative design | Talent & location
Diamon-Fusion® is a protective glass coating applied to shower doors all around the world. Chances are if you have a shower door in your home, Diamon-Fusion® has been applied to the surface. The product is that popular. Diamon-Fusion International (DFI), needed a video that instructed their audience on the proper techniques on how to maintain the coating. I worked to bring that vision to life, while reflecting the bold look and feel of the Diamon-Fusion® brand. Read below to learn all the challenges we faced and some behind the scenes pictures.
The situation
Educate and instruct online registrants. Every month hundreds of consumers go to DFI’s online warranty registration program and register their newly treated Diamon-Fusion® shower door(s). The process is simple, quick, and user-friendly. The instructional video on how to maintain their shower door that followed? Not so much. Outdated and in need of a bit more spice, I worked to recreate the video. The notion in short was this: educate online registrants, while delighting them every step of the way.
The strategy
Captivate the audience through show and tell. The Diamon-Fusion® brand is bold and clean. It evokes a sense of luxury, newness, and dependability. Making sure their most important video followed suit was of critical importance. Working with the videographer, we agreed on a bold design that would recreate the entire showering experience. From there we carefully wove in the different shots, angles, and animations that demonstrated (and explained) how registrants should maintain their newly treated shower glass.
The outcome
Thoughtful purpose with a sense of style. All too often instructional videos are mundane and lackluster, evoking a sense of duty rather than excitement. So, like a welcoming front door the video accomplished thoughtful purpose with a sense of style. Though it posited many challenges, there is something uniquely enjoyable about pouring your vision into a product that cannot physically be seen, yet is used on millions of shower doors around the world, benefiting both businesses and consumers, alike.
