FuseCube machine video
Concepting | Scripting | Video graphics
The FuseCube™ is a fully automated coating machine that streamlines the application process of Diamon-Fusion® glass protection. If you ever saw one, you’d probably think it was a gigantic TARDIS, from the British television series ‘Doctor Who’. Diamon-Fusion International (maker of the machine) was looking to create a video that captured the machine in a unique way. Working with the videographer, I managed the entirety of the project, including concepting, scripting, and post-production. It was an incredible experience and took about three weeks to finish.
The situation
Promote the FuseCube™ to the glass industry. DFI works with glass fabricators around the world to provide them with their protective glass coating products. The FuseCube™ was the long-awaited bridge manufacturers were waiting for, giving them an efficient way to automate the coating process. The machine was drawing interest, the technology was cutting-edge, and the glass industry was catching on. It was time for DFI to create a video that matched the FuseCube’s technological acumen and perception in the industry.
The strategy
One part testimonial. All parts promotion. The glass industry is as niche an industry you will find. Seriously cool machinery and multi-decade-run businesses, where people talk and news travels fast. The latter, inevitably, would serve as the key factor in creating the video – unfolding the story and experience of an actual FuseCube™ customer. Working with the videographer, we agreed on several action shots inside and outside the facility, engaging prospects with familiar everyday operations, while procuring dynamic B-roll footage of the machine itself.
The outcome
A seamless story told from two perspectives. The FuseCube™ promotional video was a catch-all for everything the FuseCube™ had to offer. Through deliberate shot selections and timely sequencing, we were able to create a video that highlighted the benefits of the machine, while seamlessly serving as a case study for future prospects. In addition to coordinating the overall direction of the video, I worked hand-in-hand with the videographer to create each in-motion graphic, accompanying headlines, and background score. All elemental graphics followed a clean, modern feel which were intended to compliment the FuseCube™ brand.
